Charles 'Bucky' Lasek (born December 3, 1972 in Baltimore, Maryland) is a professional skateboarder. He started skateboarding at the age of twelve soon after his bike was stolen. He quickly entered amateur contests and soon afterwards was elevated into the professional category. Today he is regarded as one of the sport's premier vertical skaters, doing more difficult tricks than most other pro vertical skaters, although he has yet to land the "Holy Grail" of skateboarding, the 900. As of 2005, Bucky Lasek has won 8 X Games Medals, five gold. He is among the best of the best in vertical competition, and the entire sport, along with the likes of Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, and the "Godfather" of skateboarding Stacy Peralta, earning 2004 titles in the Vans Triple Crown, Gravity Games, and the Slam City Jam. He currently resides in Carlsbad, California with his wife and two children.
